Hi All,
Hilo Medical Center continues to operate beyond our capacity, especially in the Intensive Care Unit. We are currently at 33 COVID patients in our hospital. 3 in the ICU all on vents and 30 in the COVID Unit. We now have 12 post-COVID patients with 8 on vents. We have been evaluating surgeries for medically necessity. Hilo Medical Center has been designated a FEMA-funded monoclonal antibody (MOAB) clinic site, expected to open in the latter part of September. More information will be made available as it comes to us. We have been managing this surge and ask our community to continue practicing safety precautions. AND please consider getting the vaccination if you haven’t gotten it yet.
