Brenda returned to the East Hawaii Regional Board of HHSC after serving two consecutive terms from 2007-2014. Since 1990, she has been CEO of Hospice of Hilo, also doing business as, Kupu Care Full, a service hospice and palliative care provider. At Hospice of Hilo, she initiated and completed 2 large capital campaigns. 

Brenda has a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from William Jewell College in Missouri and a Master’s Degree in Science with a specialty in Nursing Administration from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Her career began as a registered nurse and expanded into management and leadership roles. She is a member of multiple local, state and national business and healthcare associations. She also serves on the Board of Kukua Mau, a State Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, is the Current-President Elect-Rotary Club of South Hilo, and  is a member of the Steering Committee East Hawaii Regional Health Improvement Collaborative. 

She was born and raised in a small rural community located outside of Kansas City, Missouri.  Brenda moved to Hawaii in the late 1980s where she first lived on Oahu and worked at Queen’s Medical Center prior to moving to Hilo in 1990.  She is married to Clyde Ho. Between them, they have 8 children, 24 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
