Dr. Rajala is a licensed clinical psychologist with a passion for health psychology and integrated primary care behavioral health. She graduated cum laude from The College of the Holy Cross with her B.A. in psychology, and went on to receive her doctorate in clinical psychology, with a concentration in health psychology, at The Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology (now William James College). Her doctoral research examined medical and behavioral health providers’ experiences of shifting to an integrated primary care behavioral health model under the Massachusetts Patient-Centered Medical Home Initiative. Excited by their mission of increasing access to care for native Hawaiian and other underserved populations, she moved to Hawai’i to complete her post-doctoral fellowship with I Ola Lāhui Rural Behavioral Health Training Program. She has trained in Federally Qualified Health Centers and private primary care offices in urban and rural settings across the country. Dr. Rajala is passionate about working as part of an interdisciplinary team to address the whole person to treat mental health issues, substance use disorders, and medical conditions with mind-body and behavioral interventions.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outdoors. She has an interest in complementary and alternative therapies and is a Level II Reiki Jin Kei Do and Level I Buddho Enersense practitioner. Some of her favorite stress busting activities include: dancing, hiking, spending time by the ocean, gardening, and laughing with friends.
