Carol served as Chair of the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation (HHSC) Corporate Board of Directors until May 2017. She is a past president and current member of the Hawaii Island Chamber of Commerce, and a past president and current member of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Hawaii. She has been a resident of Hawaii Island since 1989, when she came to Hilo to take a management position at Prince Kuhio Plaza, and later did commercial real estate until retiring in 2016.
