About Us

Pardon Our Dust As We Grow to Better Serve Our Community

East Hawaii Health Cancer Center (EHHCC) is the largest Commission on Cancer (CoC) accredited comprehensive oncology department on the Big Island of Hawaii, with both radiation oncology and medical oncology departments! Housing both radiation oncology and medical oncology departments in one location allows for patients to have a seamless experience. At EHHCC we are committed to the health and wellbeing of our patients, and dedicated to providing expert cancer care.

At East Hawaii Health Cancer Center, we diagnose and treat all forms of cancer, from more common conditions like lung, skin and breast cancer to rarer malignancies such as throat cancer, brain cancer and hematology (blood) care. Furthermore, EHHCC is proud to offer survivorship appointments to our community. Survivorship for a patient translates to having no signs of cancer after completing treatment. The survivorship care plans created by EHHCC providers include a record of the patient’s cancer treatment history along with any follow-up tests that may be needed in the future.

EHHCC is located at 1285 Waianuenue Ave., directly across from the emergency department at Hilo Medical Center. EHHCC is currently undergoing a much needed expansion from 11 to 18 infusion chairs in the medical oncology department, this expansion will be completed in the fall of 2022. The medical oncology expansion will allow EHHCC to better serve the immediate needs our community, and will be located on the first floor of the new building. More space at the cancer center will allow us to continue to provide safe, high-quality, and cost-effective care for our patients. The care of our community and their families will always be at the heart of our mission.

At EHHCC, we have the pleasure of caring for a very unique and special patient population here on the Big Island of Hawaii. It is important when working with our community, their families and our coworkers that we practice and exude compassionate care. This compassion can manifest itself in many ways! We strive to always go the extra mile to ensure patients are comfortable, speak kind words when patients and their families are anxious, and help our patients find their voices when they cannot find words. As patient advocates we practice compassionate care, making a huge impact in a very simple way.
