Hilo Medical Center Updated Visitor Policy
Effective March 29, 2022 due to the rise of COVID numbers in our communities, Hilo Medical Center is limiting the number of visitors. This is a live document and can change at any time based on the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. For a printable version, click here.

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY
✔ Masks are required to enter the facility and must be worn throughout the duration of your visit
✔ Masks must cover your mouth, nose, and chin
✔ Vaccination status will no longer be required or checked at entry
✔ No eating or drinking in patient rooms, or engaging in any activities where you would need to remove your mask while in patient rooms, waiting rooms, hallways, or elevators
Visitor Limits
✔ Emergency Room and Short Stay patients may have one visitor
✔ Intensive Care Unit (ICU) patients may have two visitors
✔ Labor & Delivery / Post Partum patients may have three visitors
✔ Medical, Surgical, Progressive Care, & Transitional Care Units may have up to six visitors
✔ Behavioral Health patients may have one visitor between the hours of 6pm and 7pm
