Hi All, Hilo Medical Center continues to operate beyond our capacity, especially in the Intensive Care Unit. We are currently at 33 COVID patients in our hospital. 3 in the ICU all on vents and 30 in the COVID Unit. We now have 12 post-COVID patients with 8 on vents. We have been evaluating surgeries for medically necessity. HMC COVID-19 VACCINATION BOOSTER UPDATE: Immunocompromised recipients

Aloha All, Starting today, immunocompromised recipients may schedule an appointment for the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccination booster in VAMS at Hilo Medical Center’s vaccination clinic at the Arc of Hilo at 1099 Waianuenue Avenue. Appointments will begin on Monday, August 23 from 8:00 am – 3:15 pm and continue weekdays. Qualified recipients may also walk in to receive their booster, no appointment necessary. Hospital Update Overnight Hilo Medical Center experienced an influx of COVID patients from 6 patients to 12 requiring hospitalization, all unvaccinated.
