Macera, Michelle, Ph.D

Biography

Michelle has 20 years of experience in Psychology, as a professor and licensed Psychologist in West Virginia, Nevada, Texas, and now Hawai‘i. She provides Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) for adults interested in emotion management, sleep hygiene, and effective communication. One of her favorite quotes is “Light shines in the darkness”, which is a reminder of how difficult moments are opportunities for grit, strength, and growth. Her approach to behavioral health issues is not simply to “reduce anxiety” or “feel less depressed.” She believes emotions are normal human experiences that do not need to be avoided or escape from. Michelle focuses on helping patients better manage their reactions to uncomfortable thoughts and feelings – freeing her patients to engage more fully in life. Michelle is excited to provide quality care to our community.
